This is another update since I last posted an update in 2022.

2022-2023

I visited Montevideo for several months between 2022 and 2023 and during that stay finally decided to move there. So I returned to Austin, Texas to proceed with the move. I decided I would only take with me 3 bags of things so had to sell/gift/donate almost all my belongings, including all my homebrewing equipment which was hard to let go.

On November 2023 I moved to Montevideo, Uruguay and so far have been very happy with my decision to move. I rented a lovely apartment in Palermo, got a government id, opened a bank account, etc. The next big step is to find a job.
