Now is 100% official: I received my green card in the mail today!
They said it was going to take a few months… it took less than 3 weeks!
AWESOME!

Well… not really… but close
I just got back from the immigration offices in San Antonio where I got my passport stamped with the most ugly (but beautiful) stamp ever seen.
The stamp goes:
PROCESSED FOR I-551
TEMPORARY EVIDENCE OF
LAWFUL ADMISSION FOR
PERMANENT RESIDENCE
VALID UNTIL JAN 12, 2006
EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED
Starting today: I'm a permanent resident in the USA.
The official told me, that I should be getting my “green card” in the mail in about 3-6 months. In the meantime, I should use my passport with the stamp.
The whole process took about 3 years and a couple of thousand dollars…
Is good that National Instruments got selected as one of “FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For” (rank number 40) and today we are having a deck party. That means I'll have free beer to celebrate how well 2005 has started!
Cheers!
PD: Maybe now, someone would like to marry me!
